I Need Ideas, Please!

My family and I will be camping next weekend and I am afraid I could very easily sabotage everything I have done thus far! I am not worried about exercise, but I am concerned with my food choices. What types of camper friendly foods can I take to snack on other than the junky stuff we usually take? Thank you!

  1. My family and I do alot of camping and I have found taking alot of fruit like grapes, cherries, pre cut mellon, apples and necterines curb my desire to reach for the goodies. We don't pack soda, and we let our 2 year old pick the goodie he wants to take. Chances are we don't even like what he wants. I like to take wholesome granola bars and cajun trail mix. I pre make hamburger patties at home and try to limit the amount of hot dogs I eat. Some foods you just can't avoid, but as for snacks, I try to pack as healthy as possible. Also lots of WATER!!!!! Good Luck and happy camping!!

  2. I agree with Janell. Water, water, water. Ironically, when we camp, that is the last thing I choose to drink. I also started packing raw almonds. Try taking carrot sticks. They fill the crunchy need to snack.

  3. And if you do decide to bring along goodies try and pick those that are low in fat and calories.

  4. Thanks, ladies! We rarely drink sodas, so no problem there...I like the idea of raw nuts for that crunchy craving I will have. The fruit can be around for breakfast as well as snack. THANKS!
